Mark Fry
I started training in 1988 at Waltham Forest Boxing Club and went on to train at Repton Boys Boxing Club developing the skills required to defend myself.
In 1992 I continued to study and compete in Wado Rye Karate and Korean Tae Kwon Do and in 1995 discovered the art of traditional Japanese Ju-Jitsu. I passed all five sections of my Blackbelt grading, achieving a credit under the United Nations and British Ju-Jitsu Association.
In 2001 I became a licensed doorman and worked in North London, Westminster and Essex. Consequently, I was challenged in dealing with both the positive and negative effects of adrenalin and learning to control the psyche when dealing with aggressive confrontation. To date I have gained in excess of eight years close protection and personal security experience.
Since the year 2000 I have read material written by Geoff Thompson and Peter Consterdine, and finally met them both at a Self Defence seminar in Coventry, England. I have progressed to become a Senior Instructor in Self Defence and am fortunate enough to be only one of a few coaches in the world who has taught on Geoff Thompson’s Masterclass and be awarded a Blackbelt by Geoff Thompson.
In 2005 I continued to develop my fighting ability and expand my comfort zones by entering the world of Mixed Martial Arts (MMA). I have both trained and fought out of Pancrase London under Jess Liaudin and Paul Hines and Team Titan under Micky Papas and Brad Pickett.
In 2009 I joined the MMA Clinic team, training and fighting under MMA Coach Paul Hines, Muay Thai Coach Chris Carley and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Coach Michael Russell and currently have a professional record of 4-1-0, furthermore I am also employed as the MMA Coach in Romford.
