Peter Consterdine

Peter is an 8th Dan Black Belt in Karate and a former Great Britain and England Karate International with over 43 continuous years of martial arts training. A former British Full Contact Champion, Peter also spent over 10 years working as a doorman in nightclubs. In addition to Karate, Peter has studied many martial arts, in particular Wing Chun, which took him to Hong Kong, where he trained privately with Ip Chun.

As a professional Bodyguard and Operations Training Director, of his own specialist Risk Management and Security Company. Peter works around the world on Close Protection operations. Acknowledged as one of the world's hardest hitters, Peter has amended and added to the practical application of the old 'double hip' system.

With his friend and partner Geoff Thompson, Peter is joint Chief Instructor of The British Combat Association (BCA). Established in 1993, the BCA has become the UK and Europe's leading association for the promotion of self defence and practical combat. With some 200 registered Instructors, it is at the leading edge of progressive 'self protection' and has brought common sense and street experience to the teaching of self defence through martial arts. Peter is acknowledged as one of the world's leading authorities on Personal Security and Unarmed Combat and works throughout the world giving seminars to ex-pat staff on all matters to do with security awareness and defensive tactics.

In the UK, Peter has acted as consultant and instructor to some 12 UK police forces (including firearms units), the Home Office - National Police Training (NPT), HM Prison Service (Control & Restraint) HQ, numerous magistrates courts, other Government agencies and numerous commercial organisations. Throughout 2001, Peter was one of only three civilian contributors to the new NPT 'Personal Safety Manual' (Defensive Tactics), which came into place with all UK police forces in 2002. Peter's books and videos have become standard training material for many police training departments.

Peter's unique skills are bridging the gap between the physical skills of martial arts and self protection and the specialist corporate security world. It is this unique combination of talents and an ability to bring an intellectual contact to what is often seen as purely a physical art form, which makes Peter stand out from the crowd.

Through his writings, articles and teaching, Peter has become recognised as a world authority on his subjects.

Geoff Thompson

Geoff Thompson is a writer, teacher and self protection expert. Geoff was also voted number one self defense author in the world by Black Belt Magazine in the USA.

Born in Coventry, England, Geoff has received acclaim for writing books and articles on self-protection, martial arts, fear control, and his most popular book and feature film Watch My Back, an autobiography about his early years and how he came to be a nightclub doorman working in his hometown of Coventry.

Like many others in the field of self-protection, Geoff began his martial arts training in Eastern arts including karate and Kung-Fu. However, during his time as a nightclub doorman he found that what he had learned was inadequate for the reality of violence.

Geoff came to realise the techniques encouraged and practiced in semi-contact martial arts were not always suitable for self-defence. Though he utilizes a small core of techniques from touch contact and semi-contact martial arts as part of his teachings, Geoff prefers more pragmatic full-contact martial arts and combat sports such as boxing, kick boxing, Muay Thai and wrestling (Greco-Roman, Judo and Freestyle).

He holds an ABA boxing instructor certificate and high level coaching awards for wrestling. Further to this, he has a 1st Dan in Judo gained whilst training with Neil Adams.

In addition to his books, Geoff has written and presented a series of martial arts and self-help DVDs, distributed by Summersdale Productions.

In 2004 Geoff won a BAFTA award for 'best short film' for his screenplay "Brown Paper Bag". His short film "Bouncer" starred Ray Winstone who loved the project so much, he waived his acting fee.

His feature film 'Clubbed' has raised enough money (1.5 million) to go into production.

He has taught all over the world, including in the U.S.A. for Chuck Norris.
